SANTRAGACHHI- KOCHUVELI SPECIAL TRAIN


In view to clear wait listed passengers during summer and to provide better passenger comforts to the commuters, East Coast Railway has decided to run o­ne pair of weekly summer special train between Satntagachhi & Kochuveli (Thiruvanantpuram) through East Coast Railway jurisdiction.

028517/02852 Santragachhi-Kochuveli-Santragachhi weekly special train will leave Santragachhi at 16.05hrs o­n every Saturday between 5th May to 16th June 2012 and will arrive Kochuveli at 13.45hrs o­n Monday. In the return direction, this train will leave Kochuveli at 14.15hrson every Tuesday between 8th May to 19th June 2012 and will arrive Santragachhi at 03.00hrs o­n Thursday. This train will stop at Bhadrak, JHajpur-Keonjhar Road, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road, Brahmapur, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam and Duvvada between Santragachhi & Kochuveli having Two AC-3 tier, Seven Sleeper Class Coaches, Three General Second Class and Two Guard cum Luggage Vans in its composition.

WR TO RUN SUMMER HOLIDAY SPECIALS


To facilitate the passengers during summer holidays, Western Railway will run summer special trains to various destinations. Western Railway runs holiday specials every year and every effort is made to increase the number where ever possible. The details of the trains being run this year are –

Bandra Terminus - Gandhidham Weekly Special Train
Train No.09451 Bandra (T) – Gandhidham Weekly special train will leave Bandra (T) on every Thursday at 23.55 hrs to reach Gandhidham at 15.30 hrs, the next day from 5th April to 28th June, 2012. Similarly, Train No. 09452 Gandhidham - Bandra (T) Weekly special will depart from Gandhidham on every Thursday at 06.30 hrs to arrive Bandra (T) at 22.35 hrs on the same day from 5th April to 28th June, 2012. The train will have AC II tier, AC III tier, sleeper classand II class general coaches. It will halt at Borivali, Valsad, Surat, Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Viramgam and Samakhiali stations in both directions.

Bandra Terminus - Okha Weekly Special Train
Train No.09561 Bandra (T)-Okha Weekly Special will leave Bandra (T) on every Wednesday at 23.55 hrs to reach Okha, the next day at 20.50 hrs from 4th April to 27th June, 2012. Similarly, in return direction, Train No.09562 Okha-Bandra (T) weekly special will depart from Okha on everyTuesday at 11.25 hrs and arrive Bandra Terminusat05.35 hrs , thenext dayfrom 3rd April to26th June, 2012. The train will have AC II, Sleeper class and II class general coaches. This train will halt at Borivali, Surat, Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Viramgam, Surendranagar, Wankaner, Rajkot, Hapa, Jamnagar, Khambalia and Dwarka stations in both directions.

Bandra (T) - Indore Weekly Special Train
Train No. 09301 Bandra (T)-Indore Weekly Special will leave Bandra (T) at 12.45 hrs on every Monday to reach Indore at 03.30 hrs the next day from 2nd April to 25th June, 2012. Similarly, in return direction, Train No. 09302 Indore-Bandra (T) will leave Indore at 17.30 hrs on every Sunday and arrive Bandra (T) at 9.45 hrs, the next day from 1st April to 24th June, 2012. The train will comprise of AC 2 Tier, AC 3 tier, sleeper class & II class general coaches. The train enroute will stop at Borivali, Surat, Vadodara, Dahod, Ratlam, Nagda, Ujjain and Dewas stations in both directions.

Bandra (T) - Jaipur Weekly AC special train
Train No. 09033Bandra (T)-Jaipur (Weekly) AC special train will leave Bandra (T) at 16.55 hrs on every Monday to reach Jaipurat 10.40 hrs the next day from 2nd April to 25th June, 2012. Similarly, in return direction, Train No. 09034Jaipur-Bandra (T) (Weekly) AC special train will leave Jaipurat 12.00hrs on every Tuesdayand arrive Bandra (T) at 9.20 hrs, the next day from 3rdApril to 26th June, 2012. The train will comprise of AC Coach with sitting Accomodation. The train enroute will stop at Borivali, Vapi, Surat, Vadodara, Ratlam, Ramganj Mandi, Kota, Sawaimadhopur and Durgapura stations in both directions.

Bandra (T) - Delhi Sarai Rohilla Weekly Special Train
Train No. 09045Bandra (T)-Delhi Sarai Rohilla Weekly special train will leave Bandra (T) at 12.25 hrs on every Wednesday to reach DelhiSaraiRohillaat 16.25 hrs the next day from4th April to 27th June, 2012. Similarly, in return direction, Train No. 09046Delhi Sarai Rohilla-Bandra (T) (Weekly) special train will leave Delhi Sarai Rohillaat 18 .00hrs on every Thursdayand arrive Bandra (T) at 22.35 hrs, the next day from 5th April to 28th June, 2012. The train will comprise of AC II, AC III, Sleeper class and second class general Coaches . The train enroute will stop at Borivali, Vapi, Navsari, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Nadiad, Ahemdabad, Sabarmati, Mahesana, Palanpur, Abu Road, Falna, Marwar-Jn, Jodhpur, Merta Road, Degana Jn, Fulera, Ringas, Nim ka Thana, Narnaul, Rewari, Gurgaon and Delhi Cantt stations in both directions. Train will halt at Valsad stn in return direction.

Porbandar - Secunderabad Weekly Special Train
Train No. 09221 Porbandar - Secunderabad Weekly Special train will depart from Porbandar at 23.50 hrs on every Monday and reach Secunderabad at 10.30 hrs. on Wednesday from 2nd April to 25th June, 2011. Similarly, Train No. 09222 Secunderabad - Porbandar Weekly Special train will depart from Secunderabad at 14.50 hrs on every Wednesday and arrive Porbandar at 00.40 hrs. on Friday from 4th April to 27th June, 2012. The train will have AC II tier, AC III tier, sleeper class, Pantry Car and General II class coaches. The train will halt at Wansjalia, Bhanwad, Lalpur (Jam), Jamnagar, Hapa, Rajkot, Surendranagar, Viramgam, Ahmedabad, Nadiad, Anand, Vadodara, Ankleshwar, Surat, Valsad, Vapi, Vasai Road, Bhivandi Road, Kalyan, Lonavala, Pune, Daund, Sholapur, Gulbarga, Wadi, Tandur and Begumpet stations in both directions.

Valsad - Varanasi Weekly Special Train
Train No.09051 Valsad – Varanasi Weekly Special train will depart from Valsad at 19.40 hrs on every Friday and reach Varanasi at 01.10 hrs on sunday from 6th April to 22nd June, 2012. Similarly, Train No. 09052 Varanasi - Valsad Weekly Special train will leave from Varanasi on every Sunday at 05.25 hrs andarrive Valsad at 13.10 hrs the next day from 8th April to 24th June, 2011. The train will have AC II tier, AC III Tier, Sleeper class and Second Class General coaches. The train will halt at Udhna, Nandurbar, Jalgaon, Bhusawal, Khandwa, Harda, Itarsi, Pipariya, Narsinghpur, Jabalpur, Katni Jn, Maihar, Satna, Manikpur, Chheoki and Mirzapur stations in both directions.

Gandhidham - Indore Weekly Special Train (via Nadiad-Godhra)
Train No.09455Gandhidham – IndoreWeekly special train will leave Gandhidham on every Wednesday at 22.45 hrs to reach Indore at 15.20 hrs the next day from 4th April to 27th June, 2012. Similarly, Train No. 09456 Indore- Gandhidham Weekly special will depart from Indoreon every Thursday at 17.30 hrs to arrive Gandhidham at 10.00 hrsthe next day from 5thApril to 28th June, 2012. The train will have AC II tier, AC III tier, sleeper class and II class general coaches. It will halt at Dhrangadra, Ahmedabad, Nadiad, Godhra, Dahod, Meghnagar Ratlam, Nagda, Ujjain and Dewas stations in both directions.

Okha - Jaipur Weekly Special Train
Train No.09563Okha- Jaipur Weekly Special will leave Okha on every Monday at 23.00hrs to reach Jaipur the next day at 20.15 hrs from2nd April to 25th June, 2012. Similarly, in return direction, Train No.09564 Jaipur- Okha will depart from Jaipuron everyTuesday at 21.30hrs and arrive Okhaat 20.50 hrs thenext dayfrom 3rd April to 26th June, 2012. The train will have AC II, AC III, Sleeper class and II class general coaches. This train will halt at, Dwarka, Khambalia, Jamnagar, Hapa, Rajkot, Surendranagar, Viramgam, Mahesana, Palanpur, Abu road, Falna, Marwar, Ajmer and Kishangarh in both directions.

Hapa-Madgaon Weekly Superfast special train
Train No.09534Hapa –Madgaon Weekly Superfast special will leave Hapa- on every Thursday at 02.50hrs to reach Madgaon the next day at 05.30 hrs from 5th April to 7th June, 2012. Similarly, in return direction, Train No.09533 Madgaon –Hapa Weekly Superfast special will depart from Madgaonon everyFriday at 10.40 hrs and arrive Hapaat 11.00 hrs , thenext dayfrom 6th April to08th June, 2012. The train will have AC III, Sleeper class and II class general coaches. This train will halt at Rajkot, Surendranagar, Viramgam Jn, Ahmedabad, Maninagar, Nadiad,Anand, Vadodara, , Bharuch, Surat, Vapi, Vasai road, Panvel, Roha, Khed, Ratnagiri, Kudal and Thivim stations in both directions.

Bookings for train number 09301/09302,09561/09562,09221,09563,09033,will open on 6th March, 2012and for train number 09451/09452,09455/09456 09045,09534 and 09051 will open on 7th March, 2012.

Special Train Between Anakapalli-Guntur


South Central Railway will run a special train between Anakapalli and Gunturin order to clear the rush of traffic for the Annual Convention of the Hosanna Ministriesto be conducted from 1st to 3rd March 2012 near Guntur.

Accordingly, TrainNo. 07225 Anakapalli-Guntur Passenger Special will depart Anakapalli o­n 29thFebruary 2012 at 23.30 hrs, arrive/depart Rajahmundry at 03.30/04.00 hrs, Vijayawada at 07.30/07.50 hrs. and arrive Guntur at 08.50 hrs. the next day.

In the return direction, Train No. 07226 Guntur-Anakapalli Passenger Special will depart Guntur o­n 4th March 2012 at 17.30 hrs., arrive/depart Vijayawada at 18.30/18.50 hrs., Rajahmundry at 23.00/23.20 hrs. and arrive Anakapalli at 04.00 hrs the next day.

The Train will stop at all stations enroute in both the directions and will consist of eight DEMU coaches.

In addition, Train Nos. 17211/17212 Machlipatnam-Yeswantpur-Machlipatnam Express and Train Nos. 12747/12748 Guntur-Vikarabad-Guntur Palnadu Express will be augmented by 2 General Second Class Coaches.

INTRODUCTION OF NEW TRAINS


1) Santragachi – Mangalore – Santragachi Vivek Weekly Super Fast Expresses will be introduced ex. Mangalore w.e.f. 25.2.2012 and ex. Santragachi w.e.f. 1.3.2012.

T.No.22851 Santragachi – Mangalore Weekly Vivek Super Fast Express will leave Santragachi at 16.05 hrs. on Thursdays and arrive Mangalore Centralat 09.45 hrs. on Saturdays. T.No.22852 Mangalore – Santragachi Weekly Vivek Super Fast Express will leave Mangalore Central at 22.45 hrs. on Saturdays and arrive Santragachi at 17.50 hrs. on Mondays. The composition of the trains will be 1 AC 2-tier, 2 AC 3-tier, 7 Sleeper Class, 6 General Second Class and 2 luggage-cum-brake van coaches. The trains will stop at Kharagpur, Jaleswar, Balasore, Jajpur Keonjhar RoadCuttack, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road, Brahmapur, Sompeta, Srikakulam Road, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Samalkot, Rajamundry, Eluru, Vijayawada, Ongole, Nellore, Gudur, Renigunta, Tirupati, Chittoor, Katpadi, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Coimbatore, Palakkad, Shoranur, Tirur, Kozhikode, Vadakara, Kannur, Kanhangad and Kasaragod. Advance reservation for the above trains will commence on 23.2.2012.

2) Howrah – Mysore – Howrah Weekly Super Fast Expresses: Regularservice ex. Howrah w.e.f. 24.2.2012 and ex. Mysore w.e.f. 27.2.2012.

T.No.22817 Howrah – Mysore Weekly Super Fast Express will leave Howrah at 16.10 hrs. on Fridays and arrive Mysore at 05.00 hrs. on Sundays. T.No.22818 Mysore – Mysore Weekly Vivek Super Fast Express will leave Mysore at 00.30 hrs. on Mondays and arrive Howrah at 14.50 hrs. on Tuesdays. The composition of the trains will be 1 AC 2-tier, 2 AC 3-tier, 7 Sleeper Class, 6 General Second Class and 2 luggage-cum-brake van coaches. The trains will stop at Santragachi, Kharagpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road, Brahmapur, Palasa, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Rajamundry, Eluru, Vijayawada, Renigunta, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Bangarapet, Krishnarajapuram and Bangalore City.

AUGMENTATION OF TRAINS

T.No.11013/11014 Lokmanya Tilak – Coimbatore – Lokmanya Tilak Expresses will be augmented with one AC 3-tier coach w.e.f. 23.2.2012 ex. Lokmanya Tilak and 25.2.2012 ex. Coimbatore.

Secunderabad-Jaipur Weekly Special Train Extended


South Central Railway will extend the run of the Secunderabad-Jaipur-Secunderabad weekly special train from 7th April to 25th June, 2012(24 Services)to clear extra rush of passengers during the ensuing summer season:
Accordingly, Train No. 09735 Secunderabad-Jaipur weeklySpecial train will depart Secunderabad at 23 25 hrs o­n Mondays (ie o­n 9, 16, 23, 30th April; 7, 14, 21, 28th May; 4, 11, 18 and 25th June ,2012) and arrive Jaipur at 05 55 hrs o­n Wednesdays. In the spposite direction, Train No. 09736Jaipur-SecunderabadWeekly Special Train will depart Jaipur at 21.10 hrs o­n Saturdays (i.e. 7, 14, 21, 28th April; 5, 12, 19, 26th May; 2, 9, 16 and 23rd June and arrive Secunderabad at 03 55 hrs o­n Mondays.
Enroute, these trains will stop at Durgapura, Banasthali Niwai,Sawai Madhopur, Kota, Nagda, Ujjain, Sujalpur, Sehor, Bhopal, Etarsi, Nagpur, Balharshah, Sripur Kagajnagar, Belampalli, Mancherial, Ramagundam and Kazipet. These trains will have 20 Coaches Viz., o­ne AC First Clalss , o­ne AC II Tier, FourAC III Tier, tenSleeper class, two General Second class, two Second Class Luggage Cum Brake Vans Coaches.

Four Budget Announced Weekly Express Trains To Be Introduced


The following four Weekly Express Trains, which were announced in the Railway Budget 2011-12, passing through or terminating in South Central Railway, will be introduced as per the schedule detailed hereunder:-
1)Howrah-Mysore-Howrah weekly Super Fast Express: After inaugural services,the regular service of this train will commence from 24th February, 2012 Ex. Howrah and from 27th February 2012 Ex. Mysore.Accordingly, Train No. 22817 Howrah-Mysore weekly Super fast Express will depart Howrah at 16.10 hrs on Fridaysfrom 24th February, 2012 and arrive at Mysore at 05.00 hrs o­n Sundays. In the return direction, Train No. 22818 Mysore-Howrah weekly Super fast Express will depart Mysore at 00 30 hrs o­n Mondays from 27th February, 2012 and arrive Howrah at 14 50hrs o­n the next day.Enroute these trains will stop at Santragachi, Kharagpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road, Brahmapur, Palasa, Vizianagarm, Visahakhapatanam, Rajahmundry, Eluru, Vijayawada, Renigunta, Katpadi , Jolarpettai, Krishnarajapuram, and Bangalore. These trains will have 18 Coaches viz., o­ne AC II tier, Two AC III tier, Seven Sleeper class, Six General Second classand Two second class luggage cum brake van Coaches.
2)Shalimar-Secunderabad-Shalimarweekly Super Fast Express: Shalimar-Secunderabad-Shalimar weekly Super fast Expresswill be introduced from 24th Februay, 2012 Ex. Shalimar and from 26thFebruary, 2012 Ex. Secunderabad. Accordingly, Train No. 22849 Shalimar-Secunderabad weekly super fast Express will depart Shalimar at 12 20 hrs o­n Fridaysfrom 24thFebruary, 2012and arrive at Secunderabad at 15 00 hrs o­n next day. In the return direction, Train No. 22850 Secunderabad-Shalimar weekly Super fast Express will depart Secunderabad at 05 30 hrs o­n Sundays, from 26thFebruary, 2012 and arrive Shalimar at 09 20 hrs o­n the next day.Enroute these trains will stop at Santragachi, Karagpur, Jaleswer, Balasore, Bhadrak, Cuttak, Bhubaneswar, Kurda Road, Brahmapur, Sompeta, Palasa, Vijayanagaram, Visakhapatnam, Rajahmudry, Eluru, Vijayawada, Warangal and Kazipet. These trains will have 15 Coaches viz., o­ne AC II tier, Two AC III tier, Seven Sleeper class, three General Second Classand Two second class luggage cum brake van Coaches.
3)Santragachi - Huzursahib Nanded - Santragachi Weekly Express :- Santragachi-Huzursahib Nanded-Santragachi Weekly Express will be introduced from 22ndFebruary, 2012 Ex. Santragachi and from 27th February, 2012 Ex. HuzurSahib Nanded. Accordingly Train No. 12768 Santragachi-Huzursahib Nanded Weekly Express will depart Santragachi at 14.50 hrs o­n Wednesdays from 22nd Feb. 2012 and arrive Huzursahib Nandedat 18.50 hrs o­n the next day. In the return direction Train No. 12767 HuzurSahib Nanded-Santragachi Weekly Express will depart HuzurSahib Nanded at 15.15 hrs o­n Mondays from 27thFebruary, 2012and arrive Santragachi at 19.15 hrs o­n the next day. Enroute these trains will stop at Mudkhed, Himayatnagar, Kinwat, Adilabad, Majri, Nagpur, Gondia, Durg, Raipur, Bilaspur, Jharsuguda, Rourkela, Chakradharpur, Tatanagar, and Kharagpur. These trains will have Sixteen coaches viz., o­ne AC II Tier, o­ne AC III tier, Six Sleeper class, Six General Second class and two second class luggage cum brake vans Coaches.
4)Mangalore Central – Santragachi - Mangalore Central Weekly Super Fast Vivek Express:- Mangalore-Santragachi-Mangalore weekly Super Fast Vivek Express will be introduced from 25th February, 2012 EX. Mangalore and from 1st March, 2012 Ex.Santragachi.AccordinglyTrain No. 22852 Mangalore- Santragachi Weekly Super Fast Vivek Express will depart Mangalore Central at 22. 45 hrs o­n Saturdays from 25th February, 2012and arrive Santragachi at 17.50 hrs o­n the next day. HOWRAH-MYSORE NEW TRAIN INTRODUCED


As announced in last Railway Budget for running of a weekly Superfast express train between Howrah & Mysore and to provide better facilities to the commuters, Railways have introduced a new weekly Superfast express train between the two cities.
 The regular service of 22817/22818 Howrah-Mysore-Howrah Weekly Superfast Express will commence from Howrah w.e.f. 24th Feb’12 & from Mysore w.e.f. 27thFeb’2012.
 22817/22818 Howrah-Mysore-Howrah Weekly Superfast Express will leave Howrahat 16.10hrs o­n every Friday w.e.f. 24th Feb’2012 and will arrive at Mysore at 05.00hrs o­n Sundays. In the return direction, this train will leave Mysore at 00.30hrs o­n every Monday w.e.f. 27thFeb’2012 (mid night of Sunday) and will arrive at Howrah at 14.50hrs o­n Tuesdays.
 This train has o­ne AC-2 tier, Two AC-3 tier, Seven Sleeper Class Coaches, Six General Second Class Coaches and Two Guard cum Luggage Vans in its composition having stoppages at Kharagpur, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road, Brahmapur, Palasa, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Katpadi  between Howrah & Mysore.

SHALIMAR-SECUNDERABAD EXPRESS TO BE INTRODUCED


As announced in last Railway Budget and with an aim to provide more passengers comfort to the commuters, Railways have decided to introduce a new weekly express between Shalimar and Secunderabad w.e.f. 24thFebruary 2012 from Shalimar& w.e.f. 26th Feb’2012from Secunderabad.
22849 Shalimar-Secunderabad weekly Express will leave Shalimar o­n every Friday at 12.20hrs and will arrive at Secunderabad at 15.00hrs o­n the next day. In the return direction, 22850 Secunderabad-Shalimar weekly Express will leave Secunderabad o­n every Sundayat 5.30hrs and will arrive at Shalimar  at 09.20hrs o­n the next day.
This train has o­ne AC-2 tier, 02 AC-3 tiers, 07 Sleeper Classes, 06 General Second Class Coaches and 02 Guard cum Luggage Vans in its composition having stoppage at Kharagpur, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road, Brahmapur, Sompeta, Palasa, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada between Shalimar & Secunderabad.

As announced in last Railway Budget for running of a weekly Superfast express train between Santragachhi & Mangaluru and to provide better facilities to the commuters, Railways have introduced a new Super Fast train between the two cities.
 The regular service of 22851/22852 Santragachhi-Mangaluru-SantragachhiWeekly Superfast Express will commence from Mangaluru w.e.f. 25thFeb’12 & from Santragachhi w.e.f. 1st March’2012.
 22851/22852 Santragachhi-Mangaluru-SantragachhiWeekly Superfast Express will leave Santragachhiat 16.05hrs o­n every Thursday w.e.f. 1st March’2012 and will arrive at Mangaluru at 09.45hrs o­n Saturdays. In the return direction, this train will leave Mangaluru at 22.45hrs o­n every Saturday w.e.f. 25thFeb’2012and will arrive at Santragachhi at 17.50hrs o­n Mondays.
 This train has o­ne AC-2 tier, Two AC-3 tier, Seven Sleeper Class Coaches, Six General Second Class Coaches and Two Guard cum Luggage Vans in its composition having stoppages at Kharagpur, Jajpur-Keonjhar Road, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road, Brahmapur, Sompeta, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Katpadi  between Santragachhi & Mangaluru.

SUMMER SPECIAL TRAIN BETWEEN VISAKHAPATNAM & HYDERABAD

Pantry Car Service to be temporarily discontinued by Secunderabad – Rajkot – Secunderabad Express

In view of the expiry of the Pantry car contract license of Train no. 17018/17017 , Secunderabad – Rajkot – Secunderabad Express and awaiting the finalization of the new contract for the same, Pantry Car Service by these trains will be temporarily discontinued in both the directions, effective from 20th February 2012 Ex. Secunderabad and from 21stFebruary 2012 Ex. Rajkot.

Advance Reservation period increased for Janmabhoomi Express

Keeping in view the heavy demand for Train No.12806/12805 Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad Janmabhoomi Express, with effect from 25th February, 2012, the Advance Reservation Period for this Train has been increased from the present 10 days to 90 days (excluding the day of journey) till 9th March, 2012. From 10th March, 2012, the Advance Reservation Period has been increased to 120 days o­n par with Advance Reservation Period of all other Trains, as already notified.

Matribhoomi MMTS Ladies Special Service to carry General Passengers also


On account of poor patronization of the Matribhoomi MMTS Ladies Special Service i.e Train No. 47211 Falaknuma – Lingampalli Matribhoomi MMTS Ladies Special Service departing Falaknuma at 08.30 Hrs and Train No. 47188 Lingampalli – Falaknuma Matribhoomi MMTS Ladies Special Service departing Lingampalli at 17.55 Hrs, it has been decided to allow General Passengers also to travel by these MMTS Services.

Accordingly, out of 9 coaches of the above two Matribhoomi MMTS Ladies Special Services, 5 coaches from the drivers cabin will be earmarked for Ladies and the rest 4 coaches for General Passengers as per the marking o­n the coaches i.e Ladies, First Class, Physically Challenged etc.

Railways have decided to run Special trains between Jabalpur - CST Mumbai and Sai Nagar Shirdi - Mysore to clear the extra rush of Passengers during summer. The details are as under -

(A) JABALPUR - MUMBAI CST WEEKLY GARIB RATH SPECIAL TRAINS -
02187 Special will leave Jabalpur at 07.30 pm  o­n every Wednesday from  4.4.2012 to 27.6.2012 (13 trips) and will reach Mumbai CST at 12.15 pm next day. 02188 Special will leave Mumbai CST at 1.30 pm o­n every Thursday from 5.4.2012 to 28.6.2012 (13 trips) and will arrive Jabalpur at 6.00 am next day. Halts: Dadar, Kalyan, Igatpuri, Nasik Road, Manmad, Jalgaon, Bhusawal, Khandwa, Harda, Itarsi, Pipariya and Narsinghpur. Composition: 15 AC 3- tier Garib Rath coaches.

South Central Railway to run Special Trains


A) South Central Railway will introduce a Bi-weekly Special Train between Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam to clear extra rush of passenger traffic during the ensuing summer from 6th April to 30th June, 2012, as per the following schedule:-
 Hyderabad-Visakhapatnam-Hyderabad Bi-weekly Special Train (50 Services):Train No. 07148 Hyderabad-Visakhapatnam Bi weekly Special Train will depart Hyderabad at 19 30 hrs onFridays and Saturdays and arrive Visakhapatnam at 08 30 hrs on the next day. In the return direction, Train No. 07147 Visakhapatnam-Hyderabad Special train will depart Visakhapatnam at 19 05 hrs on Saturdays and Sundays and arrive Hyderabad at 08 50 hrs on the next day. Enroute, these special trains will stop at Secunderabad, Kazipet, Warangal, Khammam, Madhira, Vijayawada, Eluru, Tadepalligudem, Rajahmaundry, Samalkot, Annavaram, Tuni, Anakapalli and Duvvada. Enroute, these trains will stop at Secunderabad, Malkajgiri, Medchal, Kamareddi, Nizamabad, Basar, Dharmabad, Mudkhed, Nanded, Purna, Parbhani, Jalna, Aurangabad, Manmad, Bhusaval, Khandwa, Itarsi, Bhopal, Sehore, Shujalpur, Berchha, Ujjain, Nagda, Kota, Bundi, Mandalgarh, Chanderia, Chitorgarh, Bhilwara, Bijaynagar and Nasirabad. These trains will have 18 Coaches Viz., Two AC II Tier, OneAC III Tier, Seven Sleeper class, Six General Second class and Two second class luggage cum brake vans Coaches.
 2) Hyderabad-Kolhapur CSMT - Hyderabad Four days a week Special Trains (104 Services): The Hyderabad-Kolhapur-Hyderabad weekly Special Train will be extended to run from 1st April to 29th June, 2012 . Accordingly, Train No. 07143 Hyderabad-KolhapurSpecial Trainwill depart Hyderabad at 23 10 hrson Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundaysand arrive Kolhapur at 22 45 hrs on the next day. In the return direction, Train No. 07144 Kolhapur CSTM - Hyderabad Special Train will depart Kolhapur at 07 30 hrs on Thursdays, Fridays, Mondays andTuesdays and arrive Hyderabad at 06 45 hrs on the next day. Enroute, thesetrains will stop at Begumpet, Sanathnagar, Lingampalli, Shankarpalli, Vikarabad, Tandur, Nawandgi, Kurgunta,Seram,Malkhaid Road, Chittapur, Nalwar, Yadgir, Naryanpet Road, Krishna, Raichur, Mantralayam Road, Adoni, Guntakal, Bellary,Tornagallu, Hospet, Koppal, Gadag, Hubli, Dharwad, Londa, Belgaum, Ghatprabha, Raybag, Kudachi, Miraj and Hatkanangale. These trains will have 11 Coaches Viz. One AC II tier, One AC III tier, Four SleeperClass, Three General Second classand Two Second Class Luggage Cum Brake Van Coaches.
 3) Secunderabad – Manchiryal-Secunderabad Special Trains (156 services):Train No. 07607 Secunderabad-Manchiryal-SecunderabadSpecial Train will beextended to run from 1st April to 30th June,2012. This trainwill depart Secunderabad at 05.30 hrs on all days except Saturdaysand arrives Manchiryal at09.35 hrs on the same day. In the return direction, Train No. 07608 Manchiryal-Secunderabad Special train will depart Manchiryal at 10.30 hrs on all days except Saturdays and arrives Secunderabad at 14.30 hrs on the same day. Enroute this train will stop at Bhongir, Aler, Jangaon, Kazipet, Uppal, Jamikunta, Potakapalli, Odela, Kolnur, Peddapalli and Ramagundam. These trains will have 12 coaches viz., Ten General Second class and Two second Class Luggage Cum Brake Van Coaches.
 4) Adilabad-Nanded-Adilabad Daily Special Trains (182 services): The Adilabad-Nanded-Adilabad Special Train No 07403/07404 will be extended to run from 1st April to 30th June,2012 .This Train No 07403 will departAdilabad at 07.30 hrs daily and arrive Nanded at 12.15 hrs on the same day. In the return direction, Train No. 07404 Nanded-Adilabad Special Train will depart Nanded at 15.00 hrs and arrives Adilabad at 19.30 hrs on the same day.Enroute these trains will stop at Kinwat, Bodhadibuzurg, Sahasrakund, Himayatnagar, Bhokar, Mudkhed. These trains will have 18 coaches viz., One AC III tier,One AC Chair Car, Two Sleeper Class, Twelve General Second classand Two Second class luggage cum brake van coaches.

NEW TRAIN BETWEEN KHARAGPUR & VILLUPURAM TO BE INTRODUCED FROM 17TH FEBRUARY


As announced in last Railway Budget for running of a weekly express train between Kharagpur & Villupuram and to provide better facilities to the commuters, Railways have decided to introduce a new train between Kharagpur & Villupuram w.e.f. from 17thFebruary 2012.

On the inaugural run, Kharagpur-Villupuram-Kharagpurweekly Express will be inaugurated from Kharagpur Station and will run as a special train o­n open fast times towards Villupuram. However, the regular service of 22604/22603 Villupuram-Kharagpur-Villupuram Express will commence from Villupuram  w.e.f. 20th Feb’12 & from Kharagpur w.e.f. 22nd Feb’2012.

22604/22603 Villupuram-Kharagpur-Villupuram Weekly Superfast Express will leave Villupuramat 10.40hrs o­n every Monday w.e.f. 20thFeb’2012 and will arrive at Kharagpur at 19.30hrs o­n the next days. In the return direction, this train will leave Kharagpurat 14.10hrs o­n every Wednesday w.e.f. 22ndFeb’2012 and will arrive at Villupuram at 23.00hrs o­n the following days.

For the convenience of passengers, WR will run special trains between Bandra (T) – Bikaner and Indore – Jaipur during summer vacations.

 Bandra (T) – Bikaner – Bandra (T) Weekly Superfast Special

Train No.04728 Bandra (T) - Bikaner Weekly Superfast Special will leave Bandra (T) at 14.35 hrs o­n every Tuesday from 3rd April 2012 to 26th June, 2012 and reach Bikaner at 12.30 hrs, the next day. Similarly, in return direction Train No. 04727 Bikaner – Bandra (T) Weekly Superfast Special will leave Bikaner at 15.00 hrs o­n every Monday from 2nd April 2012 to 25th June, 2012 and reach Bandra (T) at 12.55 hrs, the next day. The train will halt at Borivali, Valsad, Navsari, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Nadiad, Ahmedabad, Mehesana Jn., Unjha, Sidhpur, Palanpur, Abu Road, Sirohi Road, Jawai Bandh, Falna, Rani, Marwar Jn., Palimarwar, Luni, Jodhpur, Gotan, Merta Rd., Nagaur, Nokha and Deshnok stations in both directions.  Indore – Jaipur – Indore Superfast Special

Train No.09727 Indore – Jaipur Superfast Special train will depart from Indore o­n every Wednesday at 22.30 hrs from 4th April to 27th June, 2012 and arrive Jaipur at 08.00 hrs the next day. Similarly, Train No.9728 Jaipur – Indore Superfast Special train will depart from Jaipur o­n every Tuesday from 3rd April to 26th June, 2012 at 20.40 hrs and reach Indore at 07.10 hrs the next day. This train will stop at Dewas, Ujjain, Nagda, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Bansthali Niwai and Durgapura in both the directions. It will have AC 2-tier, AC 3-tier, Sleeper and second class coaches.

The booking of Train No.04728 Bandra (T)-Bikaner Weekly Superfast and 09727 Indore-Jaipur Superfast Special will start from Monday, 20th February 2012.

NANDANKANAN EXPRESS TO STOP AT JALESWAR


With an aim to provide more passenger amenities to train commuters and in order to make it convenient for passengers, Railways have decided to provide additional stoppages of 12815/12816 Puri-New Delhi-Puri Nandankanan Express at Jaleswarwith effect from 15thFebruary 2012 o­n an experimental basis for a period of six months.

12815 Puri-New Delhi Nandankanan Express will arrive at Jaleswar at 16.09hrsand will leave at 16.11hrs towards New Delhi. In the return direction, 12816 New Delhi-Puri Nandankanan Express will arrive Jaleswar at 07.21hrs and will leave at 07.23hrs towards Puri. The timings and stoppages for this train scheduled at different stations will remain unchanged.

AUGMENTATION OF TRAINS


T.No.12389/12390 Chennai Egmore – Gaya – Chennai Egmore Weekly Expresses will be augmented with one AC 3-tier coach w.e.f. 19.2.2012 ex. Gaya and 21.2.2012 ex. Chennai Egmore.

ADDITIONAL BERTHS FOR THE PASSENGERS

For the convenient of the passengers, Railways have decided to augment two additional Sleeper Class Coaches permanently in 12663/12664 Howrah-Tiruchchirapalli-HowrahExpress w.e.f. 14th Feb’2012 from Tiruchchirapalli and w.e.f. 16thFeb’2012 from Howrah. Now, this train will run with 23 coaches instead of 21 coaches from the above mentioned dates. 

SEALDAH-PURI DURONTO TO BE INTRODUCED


As announced in last Railway Budget and with an aim to provide more passengers comfort to the commuters, Railways have decided to introduce a new tri-weekly Duronto Express between Sealdah and Puriw.e.f. 12th February 2012. o­n the inaugural day, this train will run as a special train from Sealdah to Puri o­n open fast timings. However, the regular service of this train will commence w.e.f. 14th February 2012 from Puri and w.e.f. 15thFeb’2012 from Sealdah as per scheduled timings.

 22202 Puri-Sealdah Duronto tri-weekly Express will leave Puri o­n every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 19.50hrs and will arrive at Sealdah at 04.00hrs o­n the next day’s w.e.f. 14th February 2012. In the return direction, 22201 Sealdah-Puri tri-weekly Duronto Express will leave Sealdah o­n every Monday, Wednesday and Fridays at 20.00hrs and will arrive at Puri at 04.00hrs o­n the next day’s w.e.f. 15th February 2012.

This train will have o­ne AC-2 tier, 04 AC-3 tiers, 07 Sleeper Classes and 02 Guard cum Luggage Vans in its composition having no commercial stoppage en-route.

Additional Suburban Services on Harbour Line & Trans-harbour Line


Central Railway will introduce four additional suburban services o­n harbour line and two additional suburban services o­n trans-harbour line with effect from 14.2.2012.  The total number of suburban services o­n Mumbai division will increase from 1573 to 1578 daily with cancellation of o­ne service o­n harbour line.  The total number of 12-car services will increase from 913 to 917.  Harbour line services will increase from 580 to 583 and Trans-harbour line services will increase from 208 to 210 daily. HALDIA-CHENNAI EXPRESS TO STOP AT BHUBANESWAR


With an aim to provide better Passenger Amenities for the convenient of passengers, Railways have decided to provide additional stoppages of 12756/12755 Haldia-Chennai-Haldia Weekly Super Fast Express at Bhubaneswar with effect from 18th Feb’2012 towards Chennai & with effect from 24thFeb’2012 towards Haldia o­n an experimental basis for a period of six months.

12756 Haldia-Chennai Express will arrive at Bhubaneswar at 18.50hrs and will leave at 19.05hrs towards Chennai. In the return direction, 12755 Chennai-Haldia Express will arrive at Bhubaneswar at 11.20hrs and will leave at 11.25hrs towards Haldia.

The timings and stoppages for this trains scheduled at different stations will remain unchanged from both the side.

VISAKHAPATNAM-SHIRDI-VISAKHAPATNAM WEEKLY SPECIAL TRAIN


08567/08568 Visakhapatnam-Shirdi-Visakhapatnam weekly special train will leave Visakhapatnam at 05.30hrs o­n every Thursday from 19th April to 14thJune 2012 and will arrive at Shirdi at 12.00hrs o­n every Friday. In the return direction, this train will leave Shirdi at 18.20hrs o­n every Friday from 20th April to 15th June 2012 and will arrive at Visakhapatnam at 22.45hrs o­n every Saturday.

This train will have o­ne AC-2 tier, o­ne AC-3tier, 09 Sleeper Classes, 04 General Second Class Coaches and two Guard cum Luggage Vans in its composition having stoppages at Duvvada, Anakapalli, Tuni, Samalkot, Rajahmundry, Tadepalligudem, Eluru, Vijaywada, Khammam, Warangal, Kazipet, Secunderabad, Bolarum, Kamareddi, Nizamabad, Basar, Nanded, Purna, Parbani, Jalna, Aurangabad, Nagarsol, Manmad, Kopergaon and Puntamba between Visakhapatnam & Shirdi.

VISAKHAPATNAM-NIZAMABAD-VISAKHAPATNAM SPECIAL TRAIN


08565/08566 Visakhapatnam-Nizamabad-Visakhapatnam weekly special train will leave Visakhapatnam at 19.30hrs o­n every Tuesday from 17th April to 12th June 2012 and will arrive at Nizamabad at 12.15hrs o­n every Wednesday. In the return direction, this train will leave Nizamabad at 18.15hrs o­n every Wednesday from 18th April to 13th June 2012 and will arrive at Visakhapatnam at 10.15hrs o­n every Thursday.

This train will have o­ne AC-2 tier, o­ne AC-3tier, 08 Sleeper Classes, 05 General Second Class Coaches and two Guard cum Luggage Vans in its composition having stoppages at Duvvada, Anakapalli, Tuni, Samalkot, Rajahmundry, Tadepalligudem, Eluru, Vijaywada, Madhira, Khammam, Warangal, Kazipet, Secunderabad, & Kamareddi between Visakhapatnam & Nizamabad.

PURI-BANSAPANI EXPRESS TO BE EXTENDED TO BARBIL


As announced in last Railway Budget and with an aim to provide more passengers comfort to the commuters, Railways have decided to extend 18416/18415 Puri-Banspani-Puri Express to Barbil w.e.f. 8th February 2012.
          18416 Puri-Barbil Express leaving Puri at 06.00hrs will arrive at Barbil at 16.30hrs w.e.f. 8th February 2012. In the return direction, 18415 Barbil-Puri Express will leave Barbil at 08.05hrs and will arrive Puri at 20.35hrs w.e.f. 8th February 2012.
          This train will provide stoppages at Murga Mahadev, Deojhar, Jammukundia, Dangoaposi, noamundi and barajamda between Bansapani & Barbil. The stoppages for this train scheduled at different places will remain unchanged.

AUGMENTATION OF TRAINS


For the convenience of rail passengers, Railways have decided to augment the passenger carrying capacity of train nos. 14723/14724Bhiwani- Kanpur Central- Bhiwani Kalindi Express and15707/15708 Katihar-Amritsar –Katihar Express as per the programme:

The 14723/14724Bhiwani- Kanpur Central- Bhiwani Kalindi Express train will beaugmented by One additional AC 3 Tier coach on permanent basis withimmediate effect.

The 15707/15708Katihar-Amritsar –Katihar Express train will beaugmented by One additional Sleeper class coach on temporary basis with effect from 9.2.2012 upto 29.2.2012 when departing from Katihar and from 12.2.2012upto 03.03.2012 when departing from Amritsar.

hoto Identity Proof Mandatory for Travel In AC Classes With Effect From 15th February, 2012


With effect from 15th February, 2012, any o­ne of the Passengers or the passenger booked o­n the tickets issued from computerizedPassenger Reservation System (PRS) and i-ticket booked through Internet for travel in AC First Class, AC II Tier, AC III Tier, AC Char Car and Executive Classes will be required to carry any o­ne of the prescribedproof of Identity ( in original) during the journey. Passengers need to produce their proof of identities as when required failing which all the passengers booked o­n that ticket will be treated as without ticket and charged accordingly.

The nine valid proof of identity prescribed by the Ministry of Railways are Voter Photo Identity Card issued by Election Commission of India; Passport; PAN Card issued by Income Tax Department; Driving License issued by RTO; Photo Identity Card having serial number issued by Central / State Government; Student Identity Card with photograph issued by recongnised Schools /colleges for their students; Nationalised Bank Passbook with photograph; Credit Card issued by Banks with laminated photograph and Unique Identification Card ie, Aadhaar.

At present, the Passengers with Tatkal and e-tickets are required to carry original proof of identity during the course of train journey. With a view to prevent the cases of travelling o­n transferred tickets in AC classes, the procedure of carrying proof of identity by passengersis extended to AC Class passengers also.

PASSENGER SPECIAL TRAINS BETWEEN VILLUPURAM AND KATPADI


The following passenger special trains will be run between Villupuram and Katpadi from 20.2.2012 to 15.4.2012.

06842/06841 Villupuram – Katpadi – Villupuram Daily Passenger Specials: T.No.06842 Villupuram – Katpadi Passenger Special will leave Villupuram at 04.00 hrs. and arrive Katpadi at 08.45 hrs. T.No.06841 Katpadi – Villupuram Passenger Special will leave Katpadi at 16.35 hrs. and arrive Villupuram at 21.45 hrs. The composition of the trains will be 6 General Second Class and 2 luggage-cum-brake van coaches. The trains will stop at all stations enroute.


RAILWAYS EXTEND ADVANCE RESERVATION PERIOD TO 120 DAYS


NEW PROVISION TO BE EFFECTIVE FROM 10TH MARCH, 2012
The Ministry of Railways has decided to increase the advance reservation period for booking train tickets from existing 90 days to 120 days o­n experimental basis (excluding the date of journey) w.e.f. March 10, 2012.
However, there will be no change in case of certain day-time express trains like Taj Express, Gomti Express etc. where lower time limits for advance reservations are at present in force.There will also be no change in case of the limit of 360 days for foreign tourists.

For the convenience of passengers, it has been decided to provide stoppage to Train No. 06511/06512 Yeshwantpur-Jaipur-Yeshwantpur Garib Rath Express at Falna station with immediate effect. Train No 06511 will reach Falna station at 22.31 hrs to depart at 22.33 hrs. Similarly, in the return direction, Train No. 06512 will reach Falna station at 20.20 hrs to depart at 20.22 hrs.

RESTORATION OF TRAINS CANCELLED DURING FOGGY WEATHER


All Mail/Express/Passenger trains which were Cancelled/Partially Cancelled during foggy weather, have been restored except 14115/14116 Allahabad- Haridwar- Allahabad express train which remain cancelled till further notice. While the 14265/14266 Varanasi- Dehradun- Varanasi express train which were cancelled upto 7/8 February 2012, will be restored with effect from 4.2.12 when departing from Varanasi and from 5.2.12 when departing from Dehradun.

Accepting SMS Sent by IRCTC on Par With Electronic Reservation Slip (ERS) for Undertaking Train Journey on E-Tickets


In a move to further make Train Reservation Ticketing System passenger friendly, the Ministry of Railways has decided to permit Short Messaging Service (SMS) sent by its PSU, Indian Railways Catering & Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) containing vital details as an instrument on par with the Electronic Reservation Slip (ERS). This has come into effect from 1st February, 2012.

The mandatory features of the authorized SMS are (a) SMS sent by IRCTC/Railways will be considered for this purpose and (b) The SMS would contain all the vital ticket details like PNR, Train Number, Date of Journey, Class, Name & Number of Passengers, Coach & Seat Number and Fare paid. (c) Also if feasible, the SMS will accommodate the names of all passengers booked on the e-ticket, otherwise maximum number of passengers.

Earlier the Railways has decided to treat the screen shot of the e-ticket displayed through laptops/palmtops/mobile phones referred to as virtual reservation Message (VRM) and the Mobile Reservation Message (MRM) for tickets booked on mobile phones combined with valid photo-id in original, as an instrument on par with the Electronic Reservation Slip (ERS), even for tickets booked through the IRCTC website. Now the SMS sent by IRCTC will also be accepted.

The authorized SMS containing all the aforementioned vital details when displayed through laptops/palmtops/mobile phones combined with valid photo-id in original shall be treated as an instrument on par with the ERS.

The ERS/SMS/VRM/MRM along with (i) confirmed/RAC reservation, (ii) Valid ID-proof and (iii) Appearance of name of the passengers on the chart, will be the components of a valid authority to travel.

The list of valid proofs of identity to be produced in original during the course of on-board and off-board checking are as under:

 Voter Photo identity card issued by Election Commission of India.

 Passport

 PAN card issued by Income Tax Department

 Driving Licence issued by RTO

 Photo identity card having serial number issued by Central/State Government.

 Student Identity Card with photograph issued by recognized School/College for their students.

 Nationalized Bank Passbook with photograph

Credit Cards issued by Banks with laminated photograph

Unique Identification Card “Aadhaar”

The SMS will also have to be displayed during the course of On-board/Off-board checking. If the passenger fails to produce/display this SMS due to any eventuality (loss, discharged mobile/laptop etc.) but has the prescribed proof of identity, a penalty of Rs. 50/- per ticket as applicable to such cases will be levied. The ticket checking staff On board/Off board will give EFT for the same.

The 11123/11124 Barauni- Gwalior- Barauni Mail have been augmented by One additional second class sleeper coach with immediateeffect on permanent basis.
Also for the convenience of passengers, Railways have decided to replace One second Class coach oftrain no. 12963/12964 Udaipur- Hazrat Nizamuddin- Udaipur Mewar Express by One second class sleeper coach with immediate effect on permanent basis. Thus the revised composition of 12963/12964 Udaipur- Hazrat Nizamuddin- Udaipur Mewar Express train would be OneAC First class, One AC Two Tier, Four AC 3 Tier, Nine Sleeperclass, Four Second class, One Secondcum Luggage vanand One Second class cum Luggage van Disabled Friendly coaches.
The 12823/12824 Durg- Hazrat Nizamuddin- Durg Chattisgarh Sampark Kranti Express have been augmented by one additional second class sleeper coach from 13.2.12 from Durg and from 14.2.12 from Hazrat Nizamuddin. The 15159/15160 Chappra- Durg- Chappra Sarnath Express have been augmented by one additional second class sleeper coach from 15.2.12 from Durg and from 17.2.12 from Chhapra on temporary basis.
