Seventy Three New Trains Announced in Interim Railway Budget 2014-15

73 new trains are being introduced which includes 17 Premium trains, 39 Express trains, 10 Passenger trains, 4 MEMU and 3 DEMU in this year’s Interim Railway Budget. Three trains will be extended and frequency of same number of trains will be increased.

Premium Trains:

Increase in frequency of Nagpur-Ahmedabad Prerana Express

Ministry of Railways have decided to increase the frequency of 11453 / 11454 Nagpur – Ahmedabad Prerana Express from Bi-Weekly to Tri-Weekly with effect from 9.2.2014. The details are as under:-

TWO PAIRS OF EXPRESS TRAINS TO ORIGINATE/TERMINATE FROM LUCKNOW JUNCTION STATION INSTEAD OF LUCKNOW STATION

It is hereby notified that the following trains will originate/terminate from/at Lucknow Junction station(North Eastern Railway) instead of Lucknow Station (Northern Railway) from 01.03.2014 as per the timings printed in July – 2013 time table i.e.

 Train No. 11110 Lucknow- Jhansi Intercity Express will depart from Lucknow Jn.  at 04.25 p.m. daily while in the return direction, the 11109 Jhansi-Lucknow Intercity Express will reach Lucknow Jn. Station at 12.00 noon daily. Similarly, Train No. 22453 Lucknow-Meerut Cant Rajya Rani Express will depart from Lucknow Jn. Station at 02.30 p.m. daily while in the return direction, the 22454 Meerut City-Lucknow Rajya Rani Express will reach Lucknow Jn.  at 01.00 p.m. daily.

The other features viz. schedule, stoppages enroute, composition etc will remain unchanged.

Special Trains between Secunderabad and Visakhapatnam

In order to clear extra rush of passengers, Twenty Eight Special Trains will be run between Secunderabad and Visakhapatnam as per the following schedule:-

Train No 08501/08502 Visakhapatnam – Secunderabad – Visakhapatnam Weekly Special Train (14 Services)

Train No. 08501 Visakhapatnam - Secunderabad Special Train will depart Visakhapatnam at 23:00 hrs on Tuesdays i.e. on 11th, 18th, 25th February & 4th, 11th,18th and 25th March 2014 and arrive Secunderabad at 11:45 hrs on the next day.

In the opposite direction, Train No. 08502 Secunderabad - Visakhapatnam Special Train will depart Secunderabad at 16:30 hrs on Wednesdays i.e. on 12th, 19th, 26th February & 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th March 2014 and arrive Visakhapatnam at 06:30 hrs on the next day.

Train No 08503/08504 Visakhapatnam – Secunderabad – Visakhapatnam Weekly Special Train (14 Services)

Train No. 08503 Visakhapatnam - Secunderabad Special Train will depart Visakhapatnam at 19:05 hrs on Mondays i.e. on 10th, 17th, 24th February & 3rd, 10th,17th and 24th March 2014 and arrive Secunderabad at 07:50 hrs on the next day.

In the return direction, Train No. 08504 Secunderabad - Visakhapatnam Special Train will depart Secunderabad at 16:30 hrs o­n Tuesdays i.e. on 11th, 18th, 25th February & 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th March 2014 and arrive Visakhapatnam at 06:30 hrs on the next day.

Enroute, these 28 special trains will stop at Duvvada, Anakapalli, Tuni, Annavaram, Samalkot, Rajahmundry, Tadepalligudem, Eluru, Vijayawada, Khammam, Warangal and Kazipet, stations in both directions.

These special trains will have 20 coaches viz, one AC II Tier, two AC III Tier, nine Sleeper Class, Six General Second Class and two Second Class Luggage cum brake van Coaches.

Newly Introduced Mumbai LTT-Kakinada Port-Mumbai LTT Bi-Weekly Express

The regular run of the Train No.17221 Kakinada Port-Mumbai LTT Bi-weekly Express will commence from 8th February, 2014. Similarly, the regular run of Train No.17222 Mumbai  LTT – Kakinada Port Bi-weekly Express will commence from 9th February, 2014.

Train no. 17221 Kakinada Port –Mumbai LTT Bi-Weekly Express have already been  inaugurated by Shri M.M. Pallam Raju, Honorable Union Minister of Human Resource Development on 3rd February, 2014, from Kakinada Port which  ran as a special train.


In the opposite direction, Train No. 17222  Mumbai LTT - Kakinada Port  Bi-weekly Express will   be introduced  on 6th February, 2014 and the same will also  run as a special train (with Tr. No.07222).  Accordingly, the inaugural train will depart Mumbai LTT at 12:25 hrs on 6th February, 2014  arrive/depart Secunderabad at 02:00 / 02:10 hrs and arrive Kakinada Port at 13:45 hrs on the next day.
