New weekly train between New Jalpaiguri & Chennai


As announced in the last Railway Budget, Ministry of Railways has decided to introduce a new weekly train between New Jalpaiguri & Chennai Central through East Coast Railway jurisdiction. In the inaugural run from New Jalpaiguri, this train will leave New Jalpaiguri at 11.15a.m on 29th January 2011 towards Chennai. The regular service of this train will commence from Chennai w.e.f. 2nd February 2011 and from New Jalpaiguri w.e.f. 4th February 2011.

12753 Chennai Central-New Jalpaiguri weekly super fast express will leave Chennai Central at 11.00a.m on every Wednesday and will arrive New Jalpaiguri at 03.45a.m on Fridays which will pass through ECoR jurisdiction on Thursdays. In the return direction, 12754 New Jalpaiguri-Chennai Central weekly super fast express will leave New Jalpaiguri at 10.00p.m on every Friday and will arrive Chennai Central at 02.55p.m on Sundays which will pass through ECoR jurisdiction on Saturdays.

This train has One AC-2 tier, One AC-3 tier, Eight Sleeper Classes, Six General Second Class Coaches and Two Guard cum Luggage vans in its composition having stoppages at Nellore, Ongole, Vijaywada, Elluru, Anakapalle, Duvvada, Simhachalam North, Vizianagaram, Brahmapur, Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Hijli, Bankura, Joychandi Pahar, Asansol, Durgapur, Rampurhat, Malda Town, Barsoi and Kishanganj between Chennai Central & New Jalpaiguri.
