New Features in eRail new extension 4.1

New Features and a new version of plugin has been updated in eRail.in on 18th Oct.

New Features:

PNR history is saved now with more detail like train number, Date of Journey, Route etc..
PNR history has been moved from right side tab to bottom window of the screen due to space
To get PNR history you need to click in drop menu box of PNR where you type 10 digit PNR number.


Search history also has been moved from right side tab to bottom window of the screen due to space.

View Currant Availability FOR TRAINS DEPARTING IN NEXT 4 HRS AFTER CHARTING:

To view this feature type the from and to station in drop box and now choose the station of From station or To Station for  which you want to see the Current Availability and click on CA next to route link at step number 3.


How to install New Extension for Google Chrome?
Before installation of New Extension ( link is given at the home page of eRail.in) please remove the old extension and check whether you have updated version ( minimum version should be 22)

How to check that I have updated Google chrome version?
Click  on Customize and control Google Chrome ikon ( at the top right side of Google chrome)
once you click you will get a top up and from that top up please click on about Google Chrome and a new tab will open with the detail of version . See whether you have version 22 installaled other wise update your Chrome by clicking on update at the same tab page.

How to remove the old Extension to update new version of Extension?

Click  on Customize and control Google Chrome ikon ( at the top right side of Google chrome)
once you click you will get a top up and from that top up please click on Tools and you will get another top up window and choose Extension and you will get detail of all Extension installed in your system, Now click on remove (a dustbin type ikon) next to eRail.in Extension and the old version will be removed from system.

Now go to home page of eRail.in and click on the new extension link
Chrome web store page will open and now click on ADD to Chrome at the top right side of screen
Once you click on Add to chrome  you will get a pop up window  click ADD in the pop window and the extension will get installed in your system.

Now refresh your page ( press F5) and clear cache of your browser and open eRail .

How to clear Cache of Google Chrome browser?

Click  on Customize and control Google Chrome ikon ( at the top right side of Google chrome)
once you click you will get a top up and from that top up please click on Tools and you will get another top up window and choose Clear browsing Data Now you will get a top up window and from that top up window clear cache of your browser .



How to install New Extension for Mozilla Firefox?
Before installation of New Extension ( link is given at the home page of eRail.in when you click on AV link) please remove the old extension and check whether you have updated version ( minimum version should be 16)

How to check that I have updated Mozilla Firefox version?
Click  on help tab in Mozilla Browser and select  about Firefox.
once you click about Firefox you will get a top up and from that top up please click whether you have version 16 or above  installaled other wise update your Firefox  by clicking on update at the same tab page.

How to remove the old Extension to update new version of Extension?

Click  on Tools tab in Mozilla Browser and select Add-On
once you click on Add on  you will get a page of all extension in your browser now in right side panel choose Extension and check whether you have the latest version of eRail plugin which is 5.0.rev103 if not then choose remove from the bottom of the screen and then close the firefox . Now open Firefox again and go to erail.in and search any two route and after getting the list of train click on AV will show you the link to install click on that link to install the latest version of Extension in your browser

Now refresh your page ( press F5) and clear cache of your browser and open eRail .

How to clear Cache of Firefox browser?

Click  on Tools and Select Clear Recent history and a top up will come and choose Cache from the drop box in the screen and choose Time range to clear as everything and then click on Clear Now at the bottom of top up.

New Features added in eRail.in

New version of erail.in is going to launch on 1st July 2011. Here is the detail of features added in new version.

New Features

• Train List will be by default by departure time
• Main station and All station removed and now there will be only one From and TO box so that user do not get confused between main station and all station
• Search by Map From and TO box
• Advance Filters added to Filter the train list as you wish . Advance Filter link is given below the list of trains. 
• Information about Train has been added with more information like Distance Restriction, Slip Train attached/Detached at which Station, Extra Coach, Coach Composition of Special trains, and other information will be updated time to time
• Search shortest route for any two given station of Indian Railways where no direct train found in Map with included Fare detail between those two station for all Classes. 
• No need to scroll to see IR Availability data in below window. It will auto scroll to fit to screen. The same is apply for PNR search data of IR page
• Current running status will be shown directly from IR website instead of trainenquiry.com data. Just like IR availability data page
• A new Tab of Menu has been given in the right side of the screen next to PNR history, and search history
• Hindi version is also going to launch on July 1 and you can directly see Hindi version also from the main site by clicking on Hindi at the top of the screen 
• Help Tool tips had given a bright color to get a better look when you roll over mouse on any header or name in the train list 
• Now you can see tatkal fare also at AV button in train list when you roll your mouse over AV if Tatkal is chosen from the quota drop menu box. other wise it will show General fare for Adult, Child, Senior woman, Senior Men.
