The following Mail/Express trains will be operated as Superfast Express in the new Time Table 2014-2015 edition which will come into effect from July 2014.  Consequently,  the train numbers will be changed with effect from the dates mentioned against each.

CHANGES IN DAYS OF TRAIN SERVICES AND TRAIN NUMBERS CONSEQUENT TO INCREASE IN ADVANCE RESERVATION PERIOD TO 120 DAYS

Days of service to be converted from 6 days a week to Daily

Consequent to change in advance reservation period to 120 days, T.No.12685/12686 Chennai Central – Mangalore – Chennai Central Expresses now running 6 days a week will be converted as a Daily Express with effect from 20.8.2012 from Mangalore and 21.8.2012 from Chennai Central.

1)T.No. 22604 Villupuram – Kharagpur Weekly Express now leaving Villupuram on Mondays will leave on Tuesdays w.e.f. 21.8.2012.

CHANGE IN COMPOSITION OF TRAINS

T.No.16043/16044 Puducherry – Mangalore – Puducherry Weekly Expresses will be renumbered as T.No.16855/16856 and the composition changed as follows w.e.f. 17.8.2012 from Puducherry and 18.8.2012 from Mangalore.

Present composition: 1 First AC-cum-AC 2-tier, 2 AC 2-tier, 1 AC 3-tier, 12 Sleeper Class, 4 General Second Class and 2 Luggage-cum-brake van coaches.

Revised composition: 1 AC 2-tier, 1 AC 3-tier, 6 Sleeper Class, 6 General Second Class and 2 Luggage-cum-brake van coaches.

AUGMENTATION OF TRAINS

            The following Express/Passenger trains will be permanently augmented as follows.

1)T.No.22601/22602 Chennai Central – Sainagar Shirdi – Chennai Central Weekly Expresses will be augmented with 1 AC 3-tier and 1 Sleeper Class coaches w.e.f. 9.5.2012 from Chennai and 11.5.2012 from Sainagar Shirdi.

2)T.No.56640/56641 Mangalore – Verna – Mangalore Passengers will be augmented with6 Second Class Sitting coaches w.e.f. 30.4.2012 from Mangalore and Verna.

AUGMENTATION OF NILGIRI EXPRESS

In order to clear the high waitlist position during the ensuing summer season, T.No.12671/12672 Chennai Central – Mettupalayam – Chennai Central Nilgiri Expresses will be augmented with one First AC cum AC 2-tier coach w.e.f. from 25.4.2012 from Chennai and 26.4.2012 from Mettupalayam for a period of one month upto 24.5.2012 in either direction.10 First AC and 20 AC 2-tier berths will be available due to this augmentation.
