INTRODUCTION OF NEW EMU TRAINS

One pair of new EMU local train will be introduced in the Chennai Beach – Velacherry – Chennai Beach (MRTS) section with effect from 22.07.2013.



Train No.41131 EMU local will leave Chennai Beach at 21.00 hrs. and arrive Velacherry at 21.45 hrs.



Train No.41132 EMU local will leave Velacherry at 21.50 hrs. and arrive Chennai Beach at 22.35 hrs.

WESTERN RAILWAY INTRODUCES 40 NEW SUBURBAN SERVICES


Western Railway will introduce 40 new suburban services of 15-car and 12- car o­n Churchgate-Virar section from 29thMarch, 2013. It will introduce two more 12-car Ladies Special trains between Churchgate and Vasai Road, taking the total number of Ladies special to 8 o­n its suburban section.
The newly introduced ladies Specials will be run during peak hours to further facilitate the women commuters. In Up direction, the new ladies special will start from Vasai Road at 9.56 hrs while in return direction it will start from Churchgate at 19.40 hrs.
Out of 40 new suburban services, 16 services will be 15-car services including 6 services during peak hours to facilitate commuters during rush period. The total number of 15-car services will go upto 30 o­n Western Railway.
These 40 new services include 19 Up and 21 Down trains.The section-wise detail is as under:-

Also 10 services of nine car will be conveted to 12 car from 29th March, 2013.
The addition of 40 new services willfurther increase the carrying capacity to a great extent by providing additional space for about 1,75,000 commuters per day. With this, the total number of WR’s daily suburban services will go up to 1290.

Railway stations of Secunderabad / Hyderabad to be converted into Suburban Section


The following Railway stations of Secunderabad / Hyderabad corridor are being converted into Suburban section with effect from 15th December 2012.The stations would be in between the following sections:

1.      Hyderabad-Lingampalli section.
2.      Hyderabad- Falaknuma section.
3.      Secunderabad- Lingampalli section.

With this categorization all the stations in the above mentioned sections would be upgraded to the minimum level of “C” category stations, for provision of Passenger Amenities.

The following would be revised fares between popular pair of stations:

Salient Features of Central Railways Suburban (Main line) Timetable


CR TO INTRODUCE SIXTEEN 15-CAR SERVICES

TOTAL MAIN LINE SERVICES INCREASED FROM 785 TO 803

Central Railway will introduce 15-car services o­n its main line from 15.10.2012.  The total number of services o­n main line will increase from 785 to 803. The total peak hour services will increase from 165 to 170. The total fast services will increase from 206 to 233.

The salient features of the suburban timetable (mainline) are as under:

All the 15-car services will run as FAST LOCALS and WILL HALT AT Byculla, Dadar, Kurla, Ghatkopar, Mulund, Thane, Dombivli stations. There will be two new services from Thane to Badlapur and Ambarnath and o­ne new service from Kurla to Titwala.

Railway Minister Announces Introduction of New Trains and Other Services


The Minister of Railways, Shri Dinesh Trivedi today announced introduction of 26 new trains, extension of five existing trains, increase in frequency of two existing trains and introduction of new five sub-urban trains.  Most of these new services announced were part of the Railway Budget 2011-12.  The trains announced in the Railway Budget 2011-12 are implemented by the end of the financial year i.e. 31st March 2012.     With this announcement, 115 out of 132 new trains proposed for introduction during Railway Budget 2011-12 will get introduced, 19 out of 22 increase in frequency of trains proposed in Railway Budget 2011-12 will be effected and all the extension of trains proposed in Railway Budget 2011-12 will get implemented.  Efforts are being made to ensure introduction of other remaining services proposed in the Railway Budget 2011-12 by the stipulated date of 31st March, 2012.  Today’s announcement include three Duronto, one Shatabdi, one fully AC Express, three  Rajyarani Express, nine Mail and Express services, three MEMU services, three DEMU services and five EMU services.
In case of new trains, local public representatives as per laid down protocol will be invited by the concerned Zonal Railway/Divisional Railway for the formal flagging off in next 7 to 10 days. 
Extension and increase in frequency of the existing trains will be introduced with immediate effect, as operationally feasible.
