In connection with the Irumudi/Thaipoosam festival at Melmaruvathur, the following trains will be provided temporary stoppage for one minute at Melmaruvathur on the dates mentioned against them.

SCR Extends Hyderabad-Ajmer Weekly Special Train

In order to clear extra rush of passengers, South Central Railway will extend Train No.07106/07105 Hyderabad-Ajmer-Hyderabad Weekly Special Train to run till 1st January, 2012 as per the following schedule:-

Train No. 07106Hyderabad-Ajmer Weekly Special train will depart Hyderabad at 21.35 hrs, arrive/depart Secunderabad at 22.00/22.05 hrs, Malkajgiri at 22.15/22.17 hrs o­n Fridays i.e o­n 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30thDecember,2011and arrive Ajmer at 14 30 hrs o­n the second day (Sunday). In the return direction, Train No. 07105 Ajmer-Hyderabad Weekly special train will depart Ajmerat22.45 hrs o­n Sundays ie., o­n11th , 18th, 25th December, 2011 and 1stJanuary 2012., arrive/depart Malkajgiri at 12.30/12.32 hrs, Secunderabad at 13.00/1310 hrs and arrive Hyderabad at 14 00 hrs o­n the second day (Tuesday). Enroute, these special trains will also stop atKamareddi, Nizamabad, Basar, Dharmabad, Mudkhed, Nanded, Purna, Parbhani, Jalna, Aurangabad, Manmad, Bhusaval, Khadwa, Itarsi, Bhopal, Sehore, Shujalpur, Berchha, Ujjain, Nagda, Kota, Bundi, Mandalgarh, Chitorgarh, Bhilwara, Bijaynagar, and Nasirabad, in both the directions.

These trains will have18 coaches viz. o­ne AC II Tier, Two AC III Tier, seven Sleeper class and sixGeneral SecondClass and Two Second Class Luggage Cum Break VanCoaches

RESTORATION OF TRAINS CANCELLED/PARTIALLY CANCEELED DUE TO FOG

In view of improvement in fog related conditions, it has been decided to restore the following passenger/Intercity Exp. trains which were earlier announced to remain cancelled/partially cancelled from 24.11.2011 till further advice due to foggy weather.The decision have been taken after taking into consideration the safety aspects and the convenience of the passengers.The trains restored are:

The train no. 54059/54060 Delhi – Shamli – Delhi passenger train which was announced to remain cancelled from 24.11.2011 will be restored to run on its route from 2.12.2011.

The train no. 54085/54086 Delhi – Rewari – Delhi passenger train which was announced to remain cancelled from 24.11.2011 will be restored to run on its route from 2.12.2011.

The train no. 64493/64494 Palwal – Hazrat Nizamuddin – Palwal MEMU train which was announced to remain cancelled from 24.11.2011 will be restored to run on its route from 2.12.2011.

The train no. 54293/54294 Partapgarh – Lucknow – Partapgarh passenger train which was announced to remain cancelled will be restored to run on the path of 14265/14266 Varanasi – Dehradun Express train during the period of its cancellation due to foggy weather.

The train no. 54331/54332 Lucknow – Balamau – Lucknow passenger train which was announced to remain cancelled will be restored to run on its path from 2.12.2011.

The train no. 14711/14712 Haridwar – Sriganganagar – Haridwar Intercity Express train which was announced to remain cancelled will be restored to run between Sriganganagar & Saharanpur and remain cancelled between Saharanpur and Haridwar from 2.12.2011.

The train no. 54521/54522 Delhi – Saharanpur – Delhi passenger train which was announced to remain cancelled from 24.11.2011 will be restored to run on its route from 7.12.2011.

Restoration of Trains partially cancelled
The train no. 54045/54046 Jind – Firozepur – Jind passenger train which was announced to remain partially cancelled between Jind and Bhatinda will be restored from 2.12.2011 to run as per its schedule and path.

The train no. 54641/54642 Delhi – Firozepur – Delhi passenger train which was announced to remain partially cancelled between Delhi Jn. & Jind stations will be restored to run on its route from 2.12.2011.

WINTER SPECIAL TRAINS BY SOUTHERN RAILWAYS

Southern Railway will run the following trains to clear the extra rush of passengers during the ensuing Winter Season.

1)Nagercoil – Chennai Egmore Weekly Superfast Special & Chennai Egmore – Nagercoil Weekly Special: T.No.06304 Nagercoil – Chennai Egmore Weekly Superfast Special will leave Nagercoil at 17.05 hrs. on Mondays from 12.12.2011 to 30.1.2012 and arrive Chennai Egmore at 06.05 hrs. the next day.T.No.06303 Chennai Egmore – Nagercoil Weekly Special will leave Chennai Egmore at 14.00 hrs. on Tuesdays from 13.12.2011 to 31.1.2012 and arrive Nagercoil at 05.30 hrs. the next day.The composition of the trains will be 1 AC 2-tier, 2 AC 3-tier, 7 Sleeper Class, 4 General Second Class and 2 luggage-cum-brake van coaches. Vriddhachalam, Salem): T.No.06624 Coimbatore – Chennai Egmore Weekly Special will leave Coimbatore at 16.15 hrs. on Tuesdays from 6.12.2011 to 24.1.2012 and arrive Chennai Egmore at 04.15 hrs. the next day.T.No.06623 Chennai Egmore – Coimbatore Weekly Special will leave Chennai Egmore at 20.20 hrs. on Wednesdays from 7.12.2011 to 25.1.2012 and arrive Coimbatore at 07.00 hrs. the next day. The composition of the trains will be 11 Sleeper Class, 4 General Second Class and 2 luggage-cum-brake van coaches. Introduction of Meals Coupons in Train No.12955/12956

Western Railway has decided to introduce the scheme of ‘meal coupons’ for selling of standard meals and breakfast in the trains running with Pantry Cars.It has been decided to first start this scheme with Train No.12955/12956 Mumbai Central-Jaipur Superfast Express with effect from 1st December,2011.

The pre-printed meal coupons will be sold in advance by the Pantry Car staff to passengers who want to have standard breakfast, lunch, dinner etc. in this train. The passengers will make the payment and collect the coupons.These coupons will be exchanged by the passengers at the time of service of meals by the Pantry staff.

The meals tariffs and the menu items alongwith the quantity to be served have been printed on these coupons.It is expected that with the introduction of meal coupons, the cases of overcharging of meals will be eliminated.The passengers will also get all the menu items printed on the coupons.This will also cut out the practice of unauthorized hawking by outsiders.

Western Railway has also nominated one Senior Officer from Commercial Department who can be contacted on Mobile No. 9004490971 by the passengers travelling in this train in case of any complaint.

Recently Western Railway has taken over on-board catering service from Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation to provide quality services to its passenger at reasonable and affordable prices.

Western Railway is working towards providing better onboard experience for passengers and in recent past it has taken several steps such as better menu for catering in trains.

15 CAR LOCALS TO HALT AT DAHISAR

From 2nd December, 2011 the 15 car locals of Western Railway will halt at Dahisar station for the convenience of the commuters. Now the 15 car services will halt at all stations between Borivali & Virar except at Naigaon station.
 The extension of platforms to accommodate 15 car services at Dahisar along with shifting of signaling equipments and Over Head Equipments have been done at Dahisar station.
 15 car services were extended upto Churchgate in January, 2011. The services now halt at Churchgate, Dadar, Bandra, Andheri, Borivali, Dahisar, Mira Road, Bhayander, Vasai Road, Nalasopara &Virar stations. After completion of subway work at Naigaon, halt to 15 car services will be provided at Naigaon also.
To provide relief to the commuters, Western Railway is converting more and more 9 car services to 12 car. In last two years, 317 nine car services have been converted into 12 car services an increase of 45%. An additional capacity for more than 3 lakh commuters has been created during this period. With completion of DC to AC conversion in near future, remaining 9 car services will be converted to 12 car.
