The Railways has ordered closure of the 73-km section between Pattukottai and Karaikudi with effect from March 15.
The BG conversion on this stretch forms part of the gauge conversion of 149-km Tiruvarur–Karaikudi section. Consequent to the closure of the MG track, the Railways has regulated the operation of trains on the Tiruvarur–Karaikudi section from March 15. The Railways has fully cancelled Thiruthuraipoondi–Karaikudi Express (16861/16862).
The Railways has partially cancelled Tiruvarur-Karaikudi passenger (56893/56894) between Pattukkottai and Karaikudi. Tiruvarur-Karaikkudi passenger (56891/56892) will be partially cancelled between Pattukkottai and Karaikudi.
The partially cancelled trains will run between Tiruvarur and Pattukottai.
