In order to facilitate the rail passengers who make their advance booking of rail tickets themselves directly and not through authorized agents, with effect from 10th July, 2012, the timing for booking of Tatkal tickets will start at 10 00 hrs on the previous day of journey from train originating station instead of 8 00 hrs as at present.
Authorized Agents including authorized agents of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation, Rail Travel Service Agents, etc.,will not be allowed to book tatkal tickets from 10 00 hrs to 12 00 hrs.
The existing restriction of not allowing these agents booking reserved tickets under general quota through internet on the opening day from 08 00 hrs to 10 00 hrs also will continue.
