Extra Coach by Northern Railways for winter

To clear extra rush of passengers, Railway has decided to augment the passenger carrying capacity of train nos. 2003/2004 New Delhi-Lucknow-New Delhi  Shatabdi Express,  2687/2688 Madras-Dehradun-Madras Express and 2059/2060  Kota-H.Nizamuddin-Kota  Jan Shatabdi Express as per  the programme:-

The 2003/2004 New  Delhi-Lucknow-New Delhi Shatabdi Express train will be augmented by three additional A.C. Chair Car coaches from 8.12.2010 to 21.1.2011.

The 2059/2060 Kota-H. Nizamuddin-Kota   Jan Shatabdi Express train will be augmented by one additional A.C. Chair Car and Two second class chair car coaches on permanent basis. Thus the revised composition of the train will be Two A.C. Chair Car, Thirteen second class Chair Car and Two second class chair car cum brake van coaches.

The 2687/2688 Chennai-Dehradun-Chennai Express will be augmented by one additional A.C. 3 Tier coach on permanent basis from 23.12.2010  when departing from Chennai and from 27.12.2010 when departing from Dehradun. Thus the revised composition will be One A.C. 2 tier, Two A.C. 3 Tier, Four sleeper class, One pantry Car, Two general class and One second class cum luggage and brake van coaches.


To cater to the increasing traffic requirements and daily commuters demand, Northern Railway has this year augmented the passenger carrying capacity  of EMU train nos NA-2 New Delhi Aligarh, AD-3 Aligarh- Delhi Jn., SNA2 Shakurbasti-New Delhi-Aligarh, AND-1 Aligarh-New Delhi  by 3 to 4 passenger coaches on experimental basis. Now Northern Railway  has decided to make the augmentation  of these  EMU  trains  on permanent basis.
