Additional Facility for Dasara at Mysore

The Mysore division of the South Western Railway will run a special train on October 14 between Mysore and Bangalore to clear the extra passenger rush.

A special train will also run between Mysore and Chamarajanagar in view of the anticipated rush for Dasara procession.

A release said other services by the railways for Dasara festivities include additional booking counters/reservation counters at Mysore including at the second entrance.

Direction-wise counters will be opened to reduce waiting time in queue and additional reservations counter will be functional at Kuvempunagar.

Mysore-Dharwad Express will be provided stoppages at all stations between Mysore and Arsikere on October 14.

There will also be additional booking counters at Chamarajapuram, Nanjangud and Chamarajanagar stations to reduce waiting time in queue while augmentation of composition of trains on two days preceding and after Vijayadashmi procession on October 14 to clear extra rush of tourists.

The deluxe pay and use toilet will be commissioned at platform number 1 in Mysore and the working hours of the cloak room at the Mysore station will be extended during Dasara.

A food plaza will also be commissioned on platform no.1 at Mysore and special attention will be paid to ensure the security of the passengers. The release said all licensees of catering units at Mysore, Chamarajapuram and Nanjangud stations have been advised to keep sufficient stock of eatables to cater to passengers while emergency medical care centre have been directed to stock with drugs to meet any emergency. Ambulance service at railway station will be operational 24 x 7, the release added.

An additional prepaid auto counter will be operational at the second entrance while the IRCTC tourist facilitation centre operational on platform no.1 at Mysore station will also assist tourists with package tours.
